08/04/2009 - Police rung over shrimp emergency
A disgruntled customer in the US called the country's 911 emergency number because she did not get enough shrimp in her take-away fried rice, it has been revealed.
The woman can be heard on tape asking a Haltom City police dispatcher "to get a police officer up here, what has to happen?".
The customer had left the Texas restaurant and returned to complain about the shrimp deficit and demand a refund.
The customer can be heard saying: "He didn't even put extra shrimp in there."
But the upset customer was refused any recompense and had left the Fort Worth-area restaurant by the time an officer arrived to reprimand her about frivolous use of the emergency number.
Cook June Lee said nothing was wrong with the meal, explaining: "Some customers are happy. Some are not."
