14/08/2009 - Adult show at restaurant continues
An Indian restaurant where the food was not the only hot and spicy thing on the menu has been allowed to stay open, providing it puts bouncers on the door.
Dawat Restaurant, in Harrow, north west London, provided an adult cabaret show to late night diners in the restaurant.
Staff from Harrow Council overheard an announcer inside the restaurant saying the evening was about to move on to "the final act and getting the girls out". Customers were asked to inform police that the entertainers were not part of the restaurant, but came along with a customer's birthday party, should the authorities call.
Harrow Council reviewed the case and decided that the venue would be allowed to continue to serve food and hold adult entertainment, providing it operated bouncers on the doors.
"We have a duty to ensure premises are safe for customers in Harrow and that only those expecting to see this kind of adult show do so," said Councillor Susan Hall.
