19/08/2009 - Gunman snatches watches from shop
An armed robber held up a jeweller in Harrogate and escaped with watches from a window display, North Yorkshire Police have confirmed.
The man brandished a handgun at the Ernest Jones store on James Street before making his escape on the back of a motorcycle which was waiting outside.
The suspect who entered the shop was wearing a navy blue jacket, light blue jeans and a white crash helmet. His accomplice wore a dark green bomber-style jacket, navy blue jeans and a black crash helmet.
After driving away from the scene, the pair headed up James Street towards Station Parade and were last seen travelling in the direction of Pannal.
Police confirmed that the shop's staff were unharmed in the incident.
