17/12/2009 - Guy Ritchie pub licence review
Westminster City Council is to review the licence of a central London pub owned by film director Guy Ritchie after 70 neighbours complained of excessive noise.
The director of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and the soon-to-be-released Sherlock Holmes, bought the Punchbowl in March.
Since then, residents have complained about several issues, including noise and other nuisance behaviour as a result of customers gathering outside the pub in Farm Street.
The hearing by the sub-licensing committee, in the council chamber in Marylebone Road, will last around five hours but could go on until Friday.
A spokesman for the council said the full judgement would be issued in writing at a later date.
