10/12/2009 - Pub licence revoked over loud music
A Brighton pub has had its licence revoked after music could be heard around 20 metres away from the premises - despite the doors and windows being closed.
Local residents made eight representations about the White Horse pub in Camelford Street, near the seafront.
Noise patrol officers visited the pub and could hear Kylie Minogue's song "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" 20 metres down the road .
A city council spokesman said: "Our licensing committee and the licensing panels will not hesitate to take away licences when licensees do not take seriously their responsibility to the community where they operate."
The owners have 21 days to appeal.
