08/07/2009 - Scots cleaning up after flash floods
Residents and businesses in Scotland are still on guard after torrential rain caused flash floods, with more downpours expected.
Perth and Kinross were the worst affected by the first torrents of rain, with Tayside Fire and Rescue Service called out to 11 flood-related incidents at the same time.
However, Perth, Scone, Kinross, Forfar, Milnathort and Kirriemuir were also swamped by the sudden heavy rain, with many homes and gardens left flooded and reports of landslides across the region.
Unfortunately for those still reeling from the first instalment of heavy rain the Met Office has issued further warnings for most other parts of the country.
The timing could not have been worse for businesses in Milnathort which saw a "river" of water flow through the village just days before the T in the Park festival is due to be held nearby.
David Hunter, owner of the recently-refurbished Thistle Hotel, said: "The drains outside did not work at all, and with all these drop kerbs, the rain had nowhere to go but onto the pavement.
"It came through my front door, into the restaurant, bar, reception and lounge - it covered the entire ground floor."
