26/03/2009 - Men steal lorry-load of lingerie
A lorry-load of hosiery and lingerie has been stolen after thieves conned the driver, police have revealed.
The thieves tricked the Polish driver into loading his red Daf lorry at a different site, the men then emptied the goods into another truck and disappeared.
The driver was meant to unload in Brackmills in Northamptonshire, but was conned and ended up at another location.
A spokeswoman said the driver was waiting to empty his lorry when a man wearing a high visibility jacket approached him and told him he was supposed to deposit the load somewhere else and sent the man to a compound in Caswell Road.
When they arrived another man joined them and put the load into a curtain-sided, 7.5-tonne, blue lorry and drove away. The lorry driver was suspicious and called the police.
The police said no details about the stock are available, but want anyone with information about the incident is to get in touch.
