03/11/2009 - Businesses continue flood clean-up
Clean-up operations are continuing at homes and businesses hit by floods following Sunday's rain.
Heavy rainfall resulted in floods up to 5ft deep, causing damage to households and businesses and causing chaos on roads.
Among the worst hit areas were those of Huntly, Aberdeenshire and the coastal town of Stonehaven in Scotland.
Local communities are still assessing the cost of the damage.
Frank MacDonald, who owns the Harbour Bakery in Stonehaven, said his business could take days to get back on its feet.
He added: "I will be losing thousands of pounds over the next couple of weeks. It will be weeks before the shop opens."
The weather also sparked major traffic problems. Stranded motorists had to be rescued from floods in Landore, Swansea, while homes were evacuated in Meidrim, Carmarthenshire.
However, the heavy downpours are predicted to give way to showers and brighter weather across the country.
Claire Austin, a forecaster with MeteoGroup, the weather division of the Press Association, said parts of Scotland and Wales could experience more localised showers on Tuesday.
