30/10/2009 - Heartless thieves steal kids' toys
Staff at a Leicester nursery have had to explain to the children that heartless thieves have stolen all their toys.
A shed at St George's Nursery School in Enderby was broken into and toy prams, children's bikes, mini cars and toy shopping trolleys taken.
Said acting manager Lisa Anderson: "I just don't understand why anyone would want to steal from children.
"The toys are useless for adults. And how do you tell a group of three-and four-year-olds that their toys have been stolen?"
She said that although the toys were insured, the cost of the excess they would have to pay on the premium if they claim is greater than the cost of replacement.
