21/09/2009 - Cinema blaze 'may be deliberate'
Fire crews investigating a blaze at a cinema and theatre complex in Suffolk believe it may have been started deliberately.
The blaze took place at the Regal in Stowmarket, although it was confirmed no-one was inside the building at the time of the fire.
The threat of a gas explosion meant around 20 people nearby had to leave their homes, but a spokesman said fire services had restricted the damage.
The blaze caused the cinema screen and sound system to be damaged beyond repair. However, David Marsh, manager at the complex, said he hopes the venue will be open in time for Christmas.
