25/09/2009 - Lingerie stolen from parked lorry
Nearly £250,000 worth of lingerie and shoes were stolen when thieves cut the side of a parked lorry, police said.
Included in the stash were tights, hold-ups and stockings from Next, along with ladies' tan wedge shoes and suede shoes. The thieves struck on Paddy's Lane in Old Dalby, Leicestershire, a force spokesman said.
Leicestershire Police's Pc Paul Anderson said: "Given the volume of items taken it is very likely that there was more than one person involved in the robbery or a vehicle was used to transfer the goods away from the scene."
He urged people who think they might have seen anything untoward to speak to the police.
"We would also like to urge people to keep a lookout for anyone selling the items described, with such a high number of stolen goods it is likely that they will try and sell them on.
"Alternatively, if you know someone who has acquired items similar to those we described that are from Next and you are suspicious of how they obtained them, we would like you to call us."
