30/04/2010 - Best landlords awarded certificates
Buy-to-let investors in the South West who signed up to a scheme to improve the standards of landlords have been rewarded with proficiency certificates.
Bristol City Council, Bath & North Somerset Council, South Gloucestershire Council and North Somerset Council jointly conducted the Landlord Proficiency Test to identify the best landlords in the region.
The test had four modules and each one had short question papers to complete. These covered topics such as pre-tenancy, the tenancy itself, end of tenancy and HMO Licensing.
The certificates were awarded to the landlords who passed the tests - in recognition of their commitment to tenants - at the Landlord Expo held at the University of the West of England in Bristol.
The expo was open to any landlords or letting agents, or anyone who is thinking of getting into the private-rental sector.
