16/08/2010 - Blast at hotel in Melton Mowbray
Part of a hotel collapsed in Leicestershire after a water boiler exploded, forcing police to close the town's high street.
The exploding tank caused the rear of The George Hotel in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, to partially collapse, police said, adding that no-one was injured in the blast.
Following the incident, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service rescued a dog trapped inside the building using a specialist harness.
The damaged area was cordoned off by police following the explosion, which is not being treated as suspicious.
Wilton Terrace to Wilton Place, as well as both ends of High Street and Market Street were closed by police. The roads were reopened later.
