01/02/2010 - Ali-signed gloves stolen in raid
Twenty boxing gloves signed by Muhammed Ali have been stolen from an Essex sports memorabilia shop, police have confirmed.
Burglars made off with the autographed gloves, estimated to be worth around £17,000, after raiding the shop in Basildon on Wednesday.
According to a police spokesman, photographs and signed football shirts were among some of the other items to disappear.
One of the football shirts taken by the thieves is believed to have been signed by David Beckham.
