30/07/2010 - Guide helps firms tackle flooding
Businesses will be helped to prepare for flooding with a free guide being launched by the Landmark Information Group.
The guide explains the different types of flooding, how a firm can assess their risk and what they can do after they have been affected.
The Landmark Information Group has teamed up with the National Flood Forum to launch the guide.
Mary Dhonau, chief executive of the National Flood Forum, says: "When one compares the average losses from a flood, estimated to be £28,000, to the average loss from a burglary, estimated to be £1,000 and considers that few businesses have a flood plan in place yet most have installed a burglar alarm, it really shows how important it is that business owners are aware of the risks they face and know how to prepare for flooding."
Site-specific flood assessment reports are also available.
