12/07/2010 - London 'has worst food in Europe'
London is the city with the worst food in Europe, a survey has revealed.
It was rated the most exciting European city but also the most expensive in the poll from the TripAdvisor company. It is also considered the easiest to get around.
Although voted the dirtiest city in a similar poll last year, it is now considered one of the cleaner ones.
London was also rated the third-safest city, with Switzerland's Geneva and Zurich hailed as the safest.
Birmingham was voted the second-most unattractive city with Krakow in Poland being the least attractive.
Liverpool is thought to have the second-worst cuisine among European cities, with Birmingham third worst: Rome is considered to have the best cuisine - and the Italian capital was also voted the most attractive but the hardest to get around.
The most dangerous city is Istanbul, the cleanest is Zurich, the best value was Lisbon and dirtiest was Athens.
TripAdvisor spokesman Emma O'Boyle said: "With the London Olympics only two years away it's encouraging to see the fundamental issues of safety and transport already scoring highly with visitors."
The survey was carried out among 2,963 Europeans, including 559 Britons.
