05/03/2010 - 50% of staff 'frustrated with pay'

Half of employees feel unfulfilled at work and frustrated with their salaries, a study has revealed.

The survey of more than 2,000 adults by health firm Bupa showed one in five are "annoyed" by a lack of progress in their career.

More than a third admitted that worries regularly kept them awake at night, while one in five had less than six hours of sleep.

Just over one in three said they are not happy with their life in general, and worried about money, being overweight or relationship problems.

Dr Peter Mace, Bupa's assistant medical director, said: "Our survey tested six wellbeing indicators - diet, exercise, happiness, stable relationships, job and sleep.

"While there is no magic cure-all, exercise is potentially the most powerful wellbeing tool we have. Getting enough exercise helps against feeling down, boosts energy levels and can also help you sleep better."
