01/11/2010 - Carroll 'allowed to stay in hotel'
A court has allowed footballer Andy Carroll to stay in a hotel with his Newcastle United team-mates before Sunday's fixture.
The striker's bail conditions over an alleged assault on ex-girlfriend Laurie Henderson had ruled that he live with club captain Kevin Nolan at his home in Darras Hall, Northumberland. However, following the news that Carroll had bought a new home, Tynedale magistrates allowed him to move elsewhere.
Carroll, 21, must reside in his new house and must stay with his United team-mates in a hotel before matches when required by the club, the court in Hexham ruled. The new address was not disclosed to the court.
The England under-21, whose original address was given as the Jesmond Dene Hotel, Newcastle, denied a single charge of assault at the court 10 days ago.
