17/02/2011 - Family rescued from gas-filled home

Fire crews have rescued a family after poisonous gas leaked through the property due to faulty plumbing.

Firefighters were called to the house in East Cowes in the early hours after a carbon monoxide alarm alerted the family to the leak.

On arrival fire crews led two adults and two children from the house. The four were unharmed in the incident.

The gas board believe the leak may have been caused by a problem with plumbing in the property.
