What if I don't have an email address? You will need to enter a valid email address to obtain a quote. If you do not have an email address you can still obtain a quote and buy a policy by calling us on 0845 303 1756. Calls may be recorded.

How long is a quote valid for? Your quote will be valid for 30 days from the day you receive it.

What if I don't know the date of my claim? If you are unsure of the date of your claim(s) please contact your current or previous insurance provider to find out. Alternatively you can enter an approximate date and then contact us on 0845 303 1760 to amend your claims details with the correct information. Calls may be recorded.

How many claims can I have? You can provide us with up to four claims within the last 3 years. In the majority of cases we will be able to help, but our ability to provide a quote will depend on the information you supply. Unfortunately, if you have more than four claims we will not be able offer a quote

Do you accept cheques or cash? No, we only accept payments by direct debit and credit/debit cards. Cards that are accepted are MasterCard, Visa Electron, Visa, Maestro and Solo card.

What does public liability cover? This provides protection against your legal liability for death or bodily injury (other than to an employee) and / or loss or damage to third party property arising out of the operation of your business.

Can you cover my van under the Restaurant Insurance / Pub Insurance policy? Unfortunately your van is not covered under the pub & restaurant policy but Direct Line does offer van insurance as a separate product. I have guest rooms in my Pub, should I cover this under your Guest House policy? We can cover up to 4 guest rooms under our Restaurant Insurance / Pub Insurance policy. If you have between 4 & 12 it is likely that we will be able to help you under our Guest House policy. If you are unsure please contact us on 0845 303 1756.

What is the maximum number of staff I can employ? There is no limit to the number of staff you can employ but we will ask you how much you pay in wages throughout the year.

Is there a limit on the number of covers your Restaurant policy will insure? There is no limit on the number of covers your restaurant does.

I have a function room in my pub, are there any restrictions on the type of function I am covered for? It is likely that we will be able to cover the function room but it does depend on what you use it for. During your quotation we will ask you about its use if you are unsure please contact us on 0845 303 1756.

Are fruit machines and pool tables covered under your Restaurant Insurance / Pub Insurance policy? These can be covered under our business contents section you need to make sure the sum insured adequately reflect the cost of these items.

Does your policy cover damage to car parks and external furniture? Our policy would cover damage to car parks provided that the Building section had been taken. Furniture in the open is covered up to £1,000 any one claim.

Our restaurant has outside tables, will this affect the policy? No it will not affect the policy other than in the event of the damage to the tables we would cover you up to a limit of £1,000 any one claim.

Can I cover more than one premise on your Restaurant Insurance / Pub Insurance policy? At the moment our products can only cater for one Restaurant Insurance / Pub Insurance per policy. However, you can have more than one policy.

If I obtain an extended licence (past 12am) several times a year, will I still be covered? If your extend your licence for New years eve and Christmas eve then yes. If it is for any other time of year we will not be able to quote.

Are children's play areas covered under your policy? Yes for both public liability and all property in the open up to £1,000 per claim.
