Interruption at third party premises – our Hair & Beauty policy covers your hair & beauty business if you rent a chair/space in a salon and there is an insured event at the rented premises.

10% discount – if you have an existing policy with us, you will qualify for an introductory discount of up to 10% on the second policy when you take cover out with us. Minimum premiums apply.

No mid-term adjustments fees – any change you make to your policy, e.g. changing your surname after your policy has begun, won’t incur an additional cost.

  • Interruption at third party premises – our Hair & Beauty policy covers your hair & beauty business if you rent a chair/space in a salon and there is an insured event at the rented premises.
  • Equipment breakdown cover – this cover allows you to pay for the repair or replacement of broken items insured by your policy, as long as the breakdown isn't due to wear and tear. Equipment breakdown cover comes as standard for all built-in equipment (e.g. a boiler) when you purchase Buildings Insurance for your hair and beauty business. Equipment breakdown cover comes as standard for all business contents (e.g. washer/dryers, and specialist equipment such as laser treatment and CACI machines etc.) when you purchase Contents Insurance for your hair and beauty business.
  • 10% discount – if you have an existing policy with us, you will qualify for an introductory discount of up to 10% on the second policy when you take cover out with us. Minimum premiums apply.
  • 0% finance in the first year - you can spread the cost of your policy during your first year with Direct Line for Business when you pay monthly for your Hair & Beauty Insurance, for no extra cost. (Subject to eligibility, 18s and over. 0.0% APR representative.) There’s also no minimum premium amount for you to qualify for Direct Debit payment.

  • QWhat is beauty insurance?
    Hair & Beauty Insurance is a cover created specifically for hair and beauty salon owners, and freelance beauty consultants, to cover the risks associated with these types of businesses. Based on your business type (salon/mobile) and requirements (a small business/self-employment), a Direct Line for Business policy should cover all the elements specified by you when getting a Hair and Beauty Insurance quote. This means you won’t have to pay for cover that you or your business may not need.
  • QWhy do I need beauty insurance?
    Accidents happen all the time so obtaining beauty insurance will give you peace of mind. You can choose the elements of cover you require so if its cover for your premises, your business contents or stock, you can cover these against fire, theft and damage.
  • QWhat is included in beauty insurance as standard?
    By default, all beauty insurance policies will include public and products liability as their base cover. Your policy will cover claims made against you for either accidental damage or injury to your customers, third party persons and their property. If you offer specialist treatments, like eyelash extensions, you should also purchase hair and beauty treatment liability to cover you in case any accidents related to the treatment arise.
  • QHow much does beauty insurance cost?
    It depends on many factors, including length of trading, location, number of employees, previous insurance history (e.g. years with no claims.). The cheapest hair and beauty insurance sold by Direct Line for Business cost £39.2 including IPT. However, this price would have been determined based on a business assessment, therefore the quote for your business may be different.
  • QWhat is included in beauty insurance?
    It depends on your beauty business requirements. You may be happy with a basic cover, or you may want to expand your cover by adding relevant elements on top of the standard policy. By answering a few simple questions about your business, you can personalise and amend your policy using our interactive beauty insurance quote tool. It is a quick and simple process and you’ll get a quote that is valid for 30 days. You can also get a quote up to 30 days before you need the insurance to start.
  • QAm I able to get a quote online?
    Yes, you are able to get an online quote using our interactive tool. Quotes are not available through webchat.
  • QCan I get any discount?
    Yes, you are entitled to introductory insurance discounts of 10% since the time of taking the second policy with us (minimum premiums apply). You will get the first Direct Line or Direct Line for Business policy at its full price and the 10% introductory discount will be applied to any new policy taken afterwards. For example if you have a car insurance from Direct Line and are getting a hair and beauty insurance policy, your new beauty insurance cover will be up to 10% cheaper thanks to the multiple policy discount that we apply to every customer purchasing more than one policy.
