  • Where and when the incident took place
  • Details of the items you're claiming for, including their cost. We may also need to inspect damaged items, so don't chuck them out

  • A crime reference number if the police were involved
  • Details of anyone who was hurt and how
  • If the claim is against you, we'll need to see any correspondence between you and the claimant, as well as any contracts
