Legal documents service for landlords

We offer a legal documents service, as standard, with our landlord insurance to help you stay compliant with the law.

You'll get access to a library of legal documents, from tenancy agreements to repossession notices, that can be tailored by you and checked by a solicitor.

Please note that this service is only available to customers who bought or renewed policies between 01 April 2018 and 31 March 2019.

All the documents you need to let your property legally

Complying with the law and having the correct legal documentation in place is a must for every landlord. If you run your rental property without the right documentation, you risk facing some potentially devastating legal issues.

Without the correct paperwork, you may struggle to evict rogue tenants. You may even have to pay them compensation for harassment, unlawful eviction or failure to correctly protect their deposit. Even if you have contracts in place, you'll need to get them checked by a solicitor if you want to make sure they stand up in court.

Through our legal documents service, you will have access to a range of quality legal documents, contracts, policies and letters that will help you fully comply with the law.

Our service can help you with:

  • Letting a property, including assured shorthold tenancy agreements and demands for rent
  • Possession proceedings, including claims for possession of property due to rent arrears
  • Household building work, including small scale building contracts
  • Complaint letters, including letters of complaint to utility providers, surveyors and accountants
  • Health & safety, including the fire risk assessment and check-list
  • Neighbour disputes, including letters to object planning permission for a neighbour's extension
  • Commercial properties, including licence to occupy business premises

As well as drafting these crucial documents, you can also get them checked and approved by a solicitor.

If you've bought or renewed a policy on, or after, 01 April 2019, and you need guidance on creating an assured shorthold tenancy agreement, making a claim for possession of a property, or any other Landlord related issue then please take a look at the government website.
