Jane Guaschi, Business Manager at Direct Line for Business, said: “It's interesting to see that so many people start out in the hair and beauty industry with a Saturday job to earn some extra money, but end up enjoying it so much they turn it into a career. There are so many different opportunities for young people and it is often hard to know what you enjoy and where your skill set lies. Being able to try a job beforehand is truly the best way to know whether it's suited to you.
This sector also offers so many pathways to success so whether you own your business and employ others to work in a salon or work as a freelancer, it's important to have the right insurance to cover your business as it grows.”
