If you select our Buildings cover, you'll automatically get Equipment Breakdown cover. This pays to repair or replace your boiler, irrespective of its age, if it breaks down, but excludes wear and tear. Read more about our boiler insurance cover.
To make a claim, you need to arrange for a boiler engineer to visit your property and assess the boiler. They need to submit their report to us, so we can assess whether the claim is covered. If it is, we'll reimburse you for the repair/replacement costs, including parts, labour and call out charges, less the £200 excess.
This cover is not a maintenance contract - it doesn't cover servicing or Gas Safety Certificates (CP12).
The type of landlord insurance that you need will differ depending on your requirements. There are three key cover levels of landlord insurance - Buildings, Contents and Leaseholders Fixtures & Fittings. Buildings Insurance provides cover for damage to, or loss of, the property's structure. Contents covers damage to, or loss of, landlord's possessions left within the property, like furniture. Leaseholders Fixtures & Fittings cover covers the fixed fittings within a property, like Bathroom suites or kitchen units, where cover is excluded under the main buildings insurance policy which has been arranged such as a for a block of flats. You can combine your insurance covers like Buildings and Contents if you need to cover both the property structure and possessions in the property.
To obtain a quote you need to enter your details, any past claims history together with the details of the property and the tenants you are renting too. Property details you would need include the rebuild value, the age and construction of the property.
You can get a quote with us for multi-property landlord insurance, with the option to insure up to 15 properties under one policy with one renewal date. You can do this online by adding the details for each of your properties.
If you already have landlord insurance with us, you can add up to 15 properties to your policy by logging into the My Account section. You'll need to use the email address and password you provided when you bought your landlord insurance policy. If you've forgotten your details, you can reset your password on the login screen.
Once logged in, you can view your existing policy under the “Your Policies” section and click “Amend” to add or remove any properties at any time.
