Barbers' insurance from under £3 a month

15% of customers paid £36 or less for their Public Liability and standard treatments cover for a 12 month policy between 1 December – 31st May. We offer 0% APR on your monthly direct debit payments in the first year. Subject to credit agreement, must be aged 18 years and over.

Treatments liability
Treatments liability insurance covers you if a client becomes ill or is injured because of a treatment you have performed. For example, if you accidentally cut a client whilst doing their hair.

Treatments covered as standard include:
- Washing, cutting, styling and drying of the hair, wigs or hairpieces
- Wet & dry shaving, including face massage
- Beard & eyebrow trimming or shaping
- Traditional Turkish ear hair flaming and nose hair waxing

Public liability

If you accidentally injure a member of the public or damage their property, for example if you are working at a client’s house and accidentally stain their white carpet with one of your products, public liability insurance will cover any legal or compensation claims you are liable to pay.
Employers' liability

Employers' liability insurance is a legal requirement if you employ staff. If an employee becomes ill or injured as a result of the work they do for you, a claim could be filed against you. Employers’ liability insurance will cover any costs you are legally required to pay.
Contents and stock

Barbers would be lost without their tools; insure your gel, wax, razors and other equipment against theft, loss and damage with our contents and stock cover. You can also cover your other business essentials, like the chairs and computer in your barber shop.

Seasonal increase for stock

If you choose to insure your stock with Direct Line for Business, we’ll give you a 25% cover increase for two months of your choice. This is in addition to the automatic cover provided 15 days either side of each bank holiday.

Property away

Always on the move? You can also insure your goods in transit. This means that when you’re carrying expensive equipment from one venue to another, you’re covered should they get damaged or stolen.
Premises Cover

Premises cover is important if you are based at home or own a barber shop. If there is an insured event such as a flood or fire at your premises and the building is damaged, our cover will pay for the costs of reinstatement or repairs.
Business interruption

Our business interruption insurance will cover you for reduced turnover if an insured peril, e.g. a fire or flood, damages your stock, equipment or premises, preventing you from trading.
Theft of takings

If your business handles cash and cheques, this cover will safeguard you in the event of theft. This includes business takings stolen from you or your employees.
Legal expenses

Legal expenses insurance covers the legal costs of providing specialist lawyers and taking action against many common legal problems, for instance disputes with suppliers or clients.
