Whether you're a mobile hair stylist who works from a salon, or a mobile hairdresser that visits clients, you provide a bespoke service by making people look their best.
Much like the service you provide to your customers, with our mobile hairdressing cover, you can personalise your insurance to fit your business' needs.
Pick and mix from the cover elements below to build your personalised mobile hairdressing insurance policy. Public and products liability and treatments liability cover, is automatically added as standard.
Sharp tools and powerful chemicals are used every day within the hair and beauty trade. Stains caused by spillages can seem insignificant at first but can easily lead to a costly compensation claim from a client.
If you're working in customers' homes or renting a chair in a salon, you can only improve the environment for safety so much, unlike your own premises. This means that it can be even harder to remove every potential hazard.
Public and product liability cover is there to pay legal costs, any compensation (up to the chosen limit) and, if you're found to be at fault, the claimants' legal costs.
Treatments liability cover insures you for any illness or injury caused to your clients by a treatment in the list below.

When you are a hairdresser on the go, insuring the tools and equipment needed to service your clients is very important. Tools such as hair straighteners, blow-driers and professional hair cutting scissors, can be expensive to replace if lost or damaged and can put a pause on your beauty business.
Our Business Tools and Equipment cover provides assurance that when you are travelling in between your clients and home, your livelihood is protected.
Theft of Takings covers cash or cheques stolen from you in transit, from a safe or on you while you're working at other premises, such as your clients' homes. Maximum limits apply.
Employers' liability insurance is a legal requirement if you have employees. There are a couple of exceptions to this rule, which you can read more about here.
We cover you for £10 million, as standard. This covers the legal and compensation costs you are required to pay if an employee gets injured or becomes ill because of the work they do for you.
If you carry or sell goods, such as hair care products like, shampoo, hair dyes or treatments, our business stock cover can be purchased as an optional extra, for if an insured event happens, such as a break in, flood or fire. Maximum limits apply.
Do you rent a chair or space in a salon? Business Interruption covers the reduction in turnover or the costs you incur, if the property you work from becomes unusable due to an insured event such as flood or fire.
This does not include cover for loss of turnover due to injury or illness.
Personal accident cover provides payment if anyone in your business between the ages 16-75 is unable to work because they've been injured in an accident, whether in a business or personal capacity.
We'll pay a lump sum of £50,000 if there is an accidental death, accidental loss of limbs or sight, or if someone in your business becomes permanently disabled following an accident.
If someone in your business is unable to work due to a temporary injury, then after 7 days we'll pay their normal net weekly earnings up to £500 for up to 104 weeks.
You can choose Personal Accident as an add-on once you've completed your quote.
Peace of mind, if you experience a sudden and unexpected issue, which can cause damage to your home, makes it unsafe or uninhabitable, home emergency's 24-hour claims line means help is never far away. You'll have a certified contractor, such as plumbers, electricians, glaziers, locksmiths, or drainage engineers at your home within 4 hours of your claim being registered, to make the property secure or prevent further damage. In addition, you have access to gas engineers, pest control services and roofers, but these are not subject to the 4-hour response time. Extreme weather and remote locations may extend the response time.
Up to £1,500 inc. VAT per claim for call-out charges, labour costs and materials for insured emergencies, such as issues with plumbing, heating or pest infestations.
There's no excess to pay and no limit on how often you can claim.
You can add home emergency to a Direct Line business policy, so long as you run your business from home and have home buildings insurance, home contents insurance or business contents insurance on your policy. It is available on new and renewal policies, it can't be added during the policy term.
Home emergency isn't currently available on policies that include commercial premises.

If you'd like to spread the cost of your policy in your first year with us you can pay monthly for your beauty insurance for no extra cost (Subject to status. 18s and over. 0% APR representative). There's also no minimum premium amount for you to qualify for Direct Debit.
Just starting out as a beauty therapist or beautician and want to get insured? You don't need to be registered with any associations or guilds to take out our Beauty Insurance. All we ask is that you're appropriately qualified for the treatments you're carrying out.
For hairdressers and beauty therapists who work on the move, the cost of insurance depends on a wide range of factors and because you can tailor your insurance to your needs, there's no 'one size fits all' premium amount.
This means that the only way to get an accurate idea of how much your mobile hairdressing or beauty insurance policy will cost is to get a quote.

Even if clients aren't visiting your premises, public liability cover for self-employed professionals still covers many of the risks you face. Working in customers' homes means there's still expensive damage that could occur should an accident happen.
If you're qualified for the services you provide, optional treatments liability cover will cover you against compensation claims for the hair and beauty treatments on this list that you've chosen to insure.
If you employ anyone in your mobile hairdressing or beauty business, you're required by law to have Employers' Liability Insurance.
Remember also that your existing vehicle insurance policy probably won't cover you for business use. You'll need to add in commercial use to your policy or take out business van insurance.
If you only carry out occasional treatments on a semi-professional basis, you face the same risks that come with being a mobile beauty therapist or mobile hairdresser. You could still be liable for a compensation claim and if you don't have cover you'd have to pay the cost yourself.
Product liability covers cosmetic products or products of any kind that you sell or give to your clients. The cover, that comes as standard alongside public liability, insures you against compensation claims for supplying products that make clients ill or damage their property.
